Life In Full Bloom: Day 4

Today’s post is a bit unique from the first 3 days of the Life In Bloom series, as I wanted to stop and give you all a gift.  This gift I created out of my own passion to encourage all of you to walk this life in full bloom by washing the mind with the Word of God.

Once we have planted the seeds, we must adopt new habits of thinking, and acting so that we don’t go back to our old ways. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

I will never forget discovering my husband’s pornography addiction, and feeling completely crushed, devastated, not good enough, violated, and totally rejected.  There was no where to go but to the Lord. Honestly the discovery of sexual sin in my marriage, even that many years ago, has been the most difficult thing to get over in my life.  So how did I heal? Only by the grace of God and a day to day reading of my Bible, praying to forgive, until those truths seeped so deep within my heart and mind that I began to believe them and own them for myself. Freedom in Christ comes only by a daily surrender, seeking, and submitting.

Rinse and Repeat

I have had to learn a habit of  ”rinse and repeat” (reading scriptures out loud to myself,) reminding me of who I am in Christ. So you my friends, and sisters in Christ, I’m not sure where you are in life, if you are facing hard times, past hurts, or are just feeling complacent, but I want to pass on the gift of God’s word written for you.

I have listed out 24 attributes of who we are in Christ, and of course there are many more, but hopefully these will get you started in your journey of renewing your mind.  After you are done reading, I also created a free printable with the same list, and I encourage you to print it off and read it daily out loud.  It will change you!

In Christ I Am…

In Christ I am {ROYALTY}

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

In Christ I am {SECURE}

Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their enemies. Psalm 112:8

In Christ I am {A NEW CREATION}

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

In Christ I am {HIDDEN}

For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3

In Christ I am {RADIANT}

The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous. Psalm 19:7-9

In Christ I am {CROWNED WITH HONOR}

But there is a place where someone has testified: “What is mankind that you are mindful of them, a son of man that you care for him? You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor. Hebrews 2:6-8

In Christ I am {REDEEMED}

He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galations 3:14

In Christ I am {A DAUGHTER OF THE KING}

I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:18

In Christ I am {BEAUTIFUL}

…to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor. Isaiah 61:3

In Christ I am {PROSPEROUS}

but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. Psalm 1:2-4

In Christ I am {ASSURED}

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

In Christ I am {PURIFIED}

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. Isaiah 1:18

In Christ I am {LOVED}

But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children. Psalm 103:17

In Christ I am {A CHILD OF GOD}

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, Abba Father. The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 18:15-17

In Christ I am {CONFIDENT}

The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. Psalm 27:1-3

In Christ I am {LIGHT}

We write this to make our joy complete. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 1 John1:4-6

In Christ I am {REFRESHED}

He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:2-4

In Christ I am {COMFORTED}

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

In Christ I am {PURCHASED}

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

In Christ I am {BLESSED}

And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8

In Christ I am {FULL OF HOPE}

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

In Christ I am {PROVIDED FOR}

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Matthew 6:25-26

In Christ I am {COMPLETE}

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:16-18

In Christ I am {AT REST}

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Question of the Day: How do you think reading the attributes of who you are in Christ will change your way of thinking about yourself?

Prayer of the Day: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you as your daughter, and ask you to forgive me for not believing the truth of who you say I am in your Word.  I pray that you would renew my mind and transform me from the inside out.  That you would heal my emotions, and my hurts, so I can experience the satisfying life you have in store for me.

In Jesus name, Amen
